Mark Carter forward this video out to his Facebook group and it made me smile after long Monday.  I thought you may enjoy it as well.

In the clip, P Diddy tries to explain Twitter to Ellen Degeneres.  In his words, “Twitter is kinda like a mass email that goes out to everybody, except you don’t always have to respond.”  He also talks about his Twitter following and gives a shout out to Demi and Ashton for being early adopters.

Celebrities like P Diddy, MC Hammer, Shaq, Demi Moore and others are realizing the benefits of communicating through Twitter and is great to see it getting so much mainstream adoption.

I have to admit, I have been very hesitant to follow celebs on Twitter but have recently started coming around.  Do you follow an celebs on Twitter?  If so, which are worth following (in your opinion)?

Update: Just came across this article published in Time Magazine this morning: “Celebrity Twittering: Is that Really You, Shaq?”

Define a celebrity, mike. Someone calls you one, would you contest? In terms of million-dollar earners, I follow tweets by MC Hammer the most, as he is also frequently a replier. Demi et al don’t reply as often. Hammer also waxes philosophical.
John Cleese and Lance Armstrong are prolific tweeters but I don’t follow them anymore.

I confess that I follow Rachel Maddow and John Cleese. But that said, I don’t really get the point of celebrities on Twitter. In part, I never quite trust that it’s actually the individual on the horn. And at the same time, the interaction seems more broadcast than conversational. Don’t we already have that in People magazine…?
